Jim and his family (Rhonda, Rachel, and Steven)

Jim has a track record of getting things done in his community.

Jim has been a resident of Gurnee for the last 21 years. He has been employed as an outside sales representative for a regional wholesale distributor for 20 years. Jim met his wife, Rhonda, while attending Western Illinois University. They’ve been married for 29 years. Rhonda has been a teacher for 28 years. They are proud parents of Steven and Rachel; both Rachel and Steven are graduates of Warren Township High School. Steven recently graduated from Purdue University and Rachel is attending Iowa State.

Jim has served as a school board member for Warren Township High School District #121. During this time, he was able to improve and oversee the educational environment of local youth, and also the environmental standards of their education. Jim championed the cause of adding solar arrays at both campuses of the school, convincing the Board to sign a letter of intent to install the arrays.

In 2012, Jim’s work with Move to Amend resulted in an advisory question being passed by a 2:1 margin (over 16,000 AYE votes) in Warren Township in the 2012 November election. The question called for an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to overturn the disastrous “Citizens United” decision of the Supreme Court.

Volunteering has filled much of Jim’s time outside of his working and spending time with his family. From coaching in Youth Baseball, to flood relief efforts at Gurnee Grade School, to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, to Gurnee Days Parade activities, Jim has never hesitated to lend a hand in help to a local institution in need.

Jim looks forward to working closely with residents of the 14th district to reclaim their voice in Congress, and to ensure that government works for everyone, and not just a handful of Washington elites.
